Patrick County farmers are hosting the County’s first farm tour this Saturday, October 10, from 10 am to 4 pm. This self-guided tour is a must trip addition to your Fall excursions. Experience farm life up close and personal as you meander the scenic byways, discover the expansive vistas and meet your newest best friends, the farmers, of Patrick County.

The Patrick County Farm Tour provides an opportunity for area residents to visit with and experience the lifestyles of our local farmers. Information about the tour is online at http://www.patrickcountyfarmtour.com/, and brochures are available at various locations around the county at convenience stores and restaurants. Rather speak to someone in person? Call Wayne Kirkpatrick at 276.694.4449.

Transitioning from mountains and foothills to the West, Patrick County stretches into the Piedmont spreading out into the fertile bottoms of the upper Dan River Basin. This unusual topography gives rise to a wide selection of agricultural endeavors. From Angus cattle to the zigzag of corn mazes, Patrick County farmers offer a full plate and a sated palate for your exploration. The farm tour free, open to the public, and made possible with support from the Farmers of Patrick County, the Dan River Basin Association and the Virginia Environmental Endowment.
